I decided that this summer I am going to focus on my confidence. I will feel beautiful, amazing and proud. And so should you!

In this article, I am going to share my secrets to boost your confidence and enjoy the sun!

1. An amazing Swimming Suit

To be honest I haven’t worn a swimming suit in years. I gained a lot of weight and none of my swimming suits would fit me anymore.

Every time I found a cool swimming suit in a store, it looked really bad on me.

Do you want to know why? Simply because they all have the same shape which is not made for my body type. I am not a tall skinny model. I am a short & chubby young lady.

Seeing these swimming suits on me made me feel more self-conscious and uncomfortable in my body.

So this year, after doing the whole30, I feel amazing and decided that I wanted to get a new swimming suit.

Here the thing, I still have a belly and on top of that, I have stretch marks at the top of my legs.

I needed a swimming suit that basically covers the belly, all the way up to the waist and shorties at the bottom to cover my stretch marks.

After doing a bit of research, I found these amazing retro swimming suits on Amazon that are perfect for my body type.

So when you are shopping for a new swimming suit, think about what shape works the best with your body type. When you wear a something that makes you feel amazing, you will be feeling more confident!

2. Cheap & Trendy Prescription Sunglasses

If you are like me and wear glasses, you know how frustrating it can be during summer.

The way insurance works in the USA, usually, makes you chose between either being covered for one frame or contacts.

This situation is a real dilemma for me during summer. I usually get the new frames since this is what I will use the most, but my insurance only covers for one frame and I cannot afford to get prescription sunglasses.

That was, until this year.

This year I bought my two prescription glasses with online companies.

  1. My everyday glasses at Warby Parker for $95
  2. My sunglasses at Zenni Optical for $35

The two companies use different models.

  1. Warby Parker: Glasses are starting at $95. They offer different models for prescription glasses and sunglasses. You can try the glasses on before ordering, either in one of their stores or by selecting 5 frames to try home for free. I think the main reason why you would like to go with Warby Parker is if you want to try on your glasses first to make sure that they fit you well.
  2. Zenni Optical: Glasses are starting at $6.95! You can order any glasses with tinted lenses to use as sunglasses, they recommend to get the 80% gray tint lenses which is what I did. Unfortunately you cannot try them on before buying, however, you can get glasses according to Pupillary distance.

3. A Kayak To Relax On Sunny Days

I don’t know how it is where you live, but in Seattle the beaches are crowded as soon as the sun is out.

So with my husband, we take our inflatable kayak and circle around the lake next to our home. There’s usually only a few people on the lake while the swimming area is full of people.

It’s so relaxing and fun.

You can now buy an inflatable kayak for two people on Amazon for cheap, and it’s definitely worth it!

4. A tote bag ready to go to the beach

I always have a tote bag with everything I need to go to the beach in my car:

This way I am ready to go relax anytime I want, whether that be spur of the moment, during lunch time, after work, during the weekend…

5. Cream For Your Feet

During the summer my feet are always suffering. I think it’s because I love being barefoot or wearing flip flops.

So my feet are becoming dry and I feel that the older I get, the worse it gets.

But this year I decided to take care of them and started applying this cream in the morning after my shower and in the evening right before going to bed.

You can see pictures of people who have been using the cream within the reviews and I have to say that the results impressed me!

6. A comfortable maxi dress

I absolutely love this dress! It’s beautiful, the shape is perfect for my curvy body and it’s so light that it’s my go to for hot days.

When I wear it I feel amazing and comfortable!

Funny story: one of my friends bought the exact same dress and we nearly wore it the same day! I was about to wear it but received it the day after 😀

7. A summer Capsule Wardrobe

Creating a capsule wardrobe has so many benefits!

For one thing,  it will help you declutter your closet and get rid of anything that you never use but, most importantly, it will help you keep in your closet only your favorite clothes.

Meaning that you will love everything that you wear, you will feel amazing and become more confident!

It’s a fun way to challenge yourself and hang out with friends by sharing your list with them!
