Best Personal Development Podcasts for 2017

In this post, we are going to talk about another tool that I use every day to become a better person, I’m talking about podcasts.

I have a confession to make, I am a podcast addict!

Indeed, I listen to soooo many of them. Some about business, marketing, photography, writing, minimalism, personal development and more! Right now, I have 27 podcasts in rotation on my phone!

Podcasts are an awesome way, to take advantage of your commute time or also when you are working on easy tasks on your computer. I think I have a constant need to learn and become a better person. Do you feel the same?

So I am going to share with you the best personal development podcasts I am currently listening to!

The Lavendaire Lifestyle

This is my newest favorite podcast. I usually listen to it in the morning when there is no traffic since every episode is about 20 minutes.

In The Lavendaire Lifestyle, YouTuber Aileen shares tips and talks about personal growth and how to create the life you want.

I love her soft voice and how I can relate to what she says.

Theme: Personal Growth
Episode Length: 20 minutes

The Minimalists Podcast

The Minimalists Podcast is the one I listen to when there is traffic. It starts with a song named Every Little Thing, that I usually sing in my car:

For your information, I sing all the time in my car. One time someone thought I was mad at them and gave me the finger while I was just singing haha.

Anyway, it starts and ends with a really catchy song. Every episode has a thematic about minimalism and Josh and Ryan respond to listeners questions.

I love this podcast because it gives me the strength to declutter my life. Not only with objects but also toxic relationships. It also helped me to be more conscious of my actions and feeling less pressured with social expectations. They always share really good advice about life in general! And at the end of each episode, listeners add more tips related to earlier episodes.

If you want to know more about minimalism you should also check out their books:

They also filmed Minimalism: a Documentary About the Important Things where they talk with people living a minimalist lifestyle and how it changed them. You can watch it on Amazon Video here*.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Gretchen Rubin is the New York Times bestselling author of The Happiness Project and Better Than Before.

In this podcast, she talks with her sister Elizabeth Craft about tips and tricks to get a happy life.

Every episode starts with a “try this at home” tip, followed by a personal development insight, then a listener question and it ends with their weekly gold star and demerit.

In Happier with Gretchen Rubin, you will find easy feasible tricks to add in your life.

Theme: Personal Growth
Episode Length: 20 minutes

The Mindful Kind

In The Mindful Kind, Rachael Kable shows how to implement mindfulness in your everyday life with subjects like confidence, productivity, stress, and more.

What I like about this podcast is how she shares personal experience and actionable items!

Her voice is also soothing with a cute Australian accent, so I feel more relaxed when I listen to the podcast.

Looking forward to checking these out! I’d also add the Inspirational Living podcast. They are 20 minutes long (great for right after I get the kiddos out the door in the morning) and feature quiet piano and the narrator’s soothing voice. Each episode is an updated/edited essay that are sometimes as old as 100plus years. They’re full of timeless wisdom and I always leave feeling mindful and encouraged.

Thank you for sharing this awesome list!! The Mindful Memo sounds awesome, definitely going to check that out! I have been listening to a relatively new series as well called “A Conversation Among Friends” by BobOlmsteadInk.com I have gained so much from the series thus far, I believe there are 9 episodes out right now, and they’re all about living your truth and empowering your authentic voice both on a personal and entrepreneurial level. I am so happy I found this series, it came at a time in my life when I have so many questions and I don’t know how to answer them, this series has helped let go in a way, and speak from a place that is authentic to me. I would definitely recommend checking it out!! My favorite Episodes are #2 and #5. Thanks again for sharing this great list!!

I have to add ‘the adult chair…’ michelle chalfant really gives a great and simple model that addresses the different stages in us ( the child, the adolescent and the adult) and offers great tools for healing any skewed thoughts that may exist as a result of things we were told or experienced as a child ( big or small)…. it’s not your basic inner child stuff…. it’s based on how our brains develop through the early years and it is a game changer! Highly recommended!!!!
