We have all been there, coming home from a long day at work or a long day taking care of the kids. We are tired, we are lazy, and we just want to put our pajamas on and read a book or binge watch Gilmore Girls or West World (Join HBO Free Trial to watch it for FREE).

But then comes the question that millions of people ask themselves everyday:
“What should we eat tonight?”

If you are like us, you are going to think about the easiest thing to cook (spaghetti bolognese). But then you will remember that you had spaghetti yesterday, and that your diet is mostly composed of pasta.

Please tell me this sounds familiar to you too and we are not the only one’s eating spaghetti every week!

So you decide to order food, but getting food delivered can be very expensive. So, instead you go out to save on the delivery fee 😀

The Ideal Meal Plan

Let’s take a moment to think about your ideal meal planning system. What is important for you? How can you make it simple?

For me it looks like this:

  1. Healthy food! Because every year I plan to eat healthier, but I don’t have the time or the patience to actually look at what is good, healthy food so I just want someone to tell me THIS IS HEALTHY FOOD.
  2. Easy and quick recipes because when I get home I’m tired and hungry and all I want is to eat, put my pajamas on, and watch a show.
  3. Different meals every week because I want to stop eating pizza, spaghetti and sushi all the time.
  4. Have enough food for the whole week because I don’t want to get groceries several times a week.
  5. Have the food delivered to my doorstep because I would rather avoid to go to the grocery stores, especially during the weekend.

Is this too much to ask? Apparently not!

Easy And Healthy Food

HelloFresh works with two registered dietitians involved in a lot of different teams to make sure that the recipes are healthy.

How cool is that?

I have been thinking about talking to a dietitian for a while to learn about what I should eat or not, but with HelloFresh I get two of them 😀 (okay not directly, but I’m still learning about healthy food!)

So you might be wondering how it works. It’s very easy.

First, you have to create an account on their website. You will have a nice surprise if you use this link.

When you create an account, you have to chose between the classic plan, the vegetarian plan and the family plan. Each one of them will offer weekly recipes adapted to your lifestyle.

Then you will select the number of people you want to cook for (between 2 and 4), and how many HelloFresh meals you want for the week (between 2 and 5).

If you chose the classic meal plan, you will be able to select one of the 7 meals preferences:

  • Chef’s Choice
  • Fit
  • Variety
  • Seafood Free
  • Pork Free
  • Beef Free
  • Quick

For example, we have ours set to “fit” so it will automatically select meals with less calories.

But you also have the choice to manually change the automatic selection if you want something different!

What You Will Get

First, you will select which day of the week you want your box to be delivered. We are usually home on Saturdays, so we decided to have the box delivered then.

In your HelloFresh box you will find:

  • All the ingredients needed

Our Experience with HelloFresh

We discovered HelloFresh thanks to one of my friends. She joined their team in New York and kept telling us to try it.

Obviously, we were too busy to subscribe to the trial. You know, because we had to catch up on the new Walking Dead episodes, so we couldn’t spare 5 minutes.

But after telling us 5 times (this is a random number, it was probably more than that 😀 ) we finally gave it a try.

And we loved it so much that we continued the subscription after the trial. We didn’t do it every week. For example, if we knew that we wouldn’t eat home most of the week, we would skip that week. All you have to do is go to the app and select the weeks you want to skip 🙂

My husband is the one cooking at home (Yes, I know how lucky I am 😉 ) and he loved learning new recipes, some of them became his new specialties!
